The Walnut Gallery launches its 2010 exhibition season with a display of artwork by its current roster of art instructors and gallery artists. The show, entitled “Edges”, will be on display from January 27th to March 28th, and will kick off with an opening next Tuesday, January 26th from 6 – 8 PM. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Walnut Gallery is located at 534A Walnut Street in the newly renovated “Odd Fellows Hall” above Recovery Room Upholstery in Downtown Gadsden, Alabama.
“Edges” will showcase a variety of styles and media including photography, sculpture, drawing, painting, and printmaking. The artists contributing work to the show all belong to the current roster of gallery artists and instructors for the Walnut Gallery’s School for Fine Arts: Alan Curtis Jr., Julie Curtis, Robert Hendrickson, Judy Ritter, Gary Howie, Parker Hunt, Mario Gallardo, and Rick Adkins. “We’re excited to be kicking off our 2010 exhibition season with a collection of works from our team of gallery artists,” said Gallery Co-founder and Director Mario Gallardo. “We sent off a call for entries for the remainder of our 2010 schedule and were overwhelmed with responses. We’re already booked until 2011.” The Walnut Gallery will be hosting a variety of art exhibitions throughout the year, featuring both new and established artists from all over the region. “This first show will be a good opportunity for the community to get to know what our staff of talented artists and teachers have to offer,” added Gallardo.
